This experience is common - particularly for women and people who are not part of the dominant culture. It's important to know you are not alone, and you are in the right place.

At Simply Coaching we have coached and worked with hundreds of people over the last ten years, in Australia, UK and everywhere in between. One of the most common themes we explore is how people can be seen, heard and valued at work. In this masterclass, you will learn that there are some systemic reasons why your experiences are what they are, and, most importantly, what you can do about it. 

This masterclass is not a cookie-cutter approach. What works for one person will not necessarily work for others. We will explore the patterns that we have fallen into, what stops us from contributing and we will develop a strategy for applying our new insights in ways that cut through to action. 


Changing how you show up at work is not light and fluffy - it requires deep thinking and honest reflection. The masterclass will provide specific training and practices that will give you the results you want and deserve - if you do the work.  


In our last cohort:

  • Two participants used the techniques to land a new job (one of them was offered two jobs!).

  • One managed to give their manager some long overdue feedback, and it has started to repair their relationship.

  • One explored an internal promotion that she wouldn't previously have considered or been considered for.

  • Another has accepted that there might be a different career in the future and has taken the first steps to explore "what next" - and it's exciting.

It will take some work - although not as much as you might think!

What we will cover 

Create clarity about the change you want


In small groups we will reflect on what needs to change, why and we will tailor course content to the goals participants set for themselves. 

Learn why it is hard to assert yourself

There are many reasons why it can be difficult to assert yourself. We will look at what the research says and perhaps most importantly recognise you are not alone in this challenge.

Panel discussion to learn from others

Our guest panel of speakers will share from their own experience of the challenge of asserting themselves, how they overcome it and what the consequences were.

Strategies to overcome 


We will explore a number of strategies, tools, techniques that can help you over come those 'kick yourself' moments when you wish you had spoken up. We will collect and share hints, tips and techniques as we go.

Practice, feedback and reflection. 


When we have identified the right strategy for your situation you will practice the strategy in a small group and get lot's of high support feedback so  you are ready to put your strategy into action.

Yes, I expected to revisit my values, but it exceeded my expectations with the final activity of the course (session 2) with a very simple but effective framework for protecting my values from others and myself will be very helpful for me moving forward. 

In a very short period of time and with very practical tools l got what l wanted out of the sessions, plus l met amazing people!

My biggest insight was that one of my values is actually holding me back from achieving some of my ambitions....although this value is so ingrained, it is going to take significant effort to change. It's really useful to know that now. It was definitely worthwhile.
